C harge - exchange scattering in K - p interactions below 300 MeV
نویسنده
چکیده
Cross sections for K p charge exchange, based on new data equal in statistics to the sum of those of all previous determinations below 300 MeV/c, are presented. The results confirm an earlier observation by this collaboration that the previous measurements of these cross sections at low momentum were significantly underestimated. Evidence for the presence of P wave scattering is presented.

The sensitivity of momentum distributions, recoil polarization observables, and response functions for nucleon knockout by polarized electron scattering to channel coupling in final-state interactions is investigated using a model in which both the distorting and the coupling potentials are constructed by folding density-dependent nucleon-nucleon effective interactions with nuclear transition d...

A partial-wave analysis of all pp scattering data below 925 MeV/c antiproton laboratory momentum is presented. The method used is adapted from the Nijmegen phase-shift analyses of pp and np scattering data. We solve the Schrödinger equation for the coupled pp and nn channels where the long-and intermediate-range interactions are described by a theoretically well-founded potential. This gives th...
متن کاملPredicting total reaction cross sections for nucleon-nucleus scattering.
Nucleon total reaction and neutron total cross sections to 300 MeV for 12C and 208Pb, and for 65 MeV scattering spanning the mass range, are predicted using coordinate space optical potentials formed by full folding of effective nucleon-nucleon interactions with realistic nuclear ground state densities. Good to excellent agreement is found with existing data.

متن کاملPerturbative renormalizability of chiral two-pion exchange in nucleon-nucleon scattering
We study the perturbative renormalizability of chiral two-pion exchange for singlet and triplet channels within effective field theory, provided that the one-pion exchange piece of the interaction has been fully iterated. We determine the number of counterterms/subtractions needed to obtain finite results when the cutoff is removed, resulting in three counterterms for the singlet channel and si...
